When I was younger I wanted to become an investigative journalist and was lucky enough to practice a week at a local newspaper. The lesson I took away from my practice was that not that much happens at a small editorial office in a medium-sized city. The journalist dream died early, but my curiosity has stayed with me. I have benefited greatly from being curious later during my working life. As an IT auditor, there is an incredible amount going on in the professional field both in regards to the tech revolution and new regulation. The best thing about the profession is when you get an opportunity to help customers improve their business.
